Stephen & Sarah Summers

PRINCIPLES

Summers In Time Dance Ltd & Summers Knight Dance Studio

   is run by Stephen & Sarah Summers and was established in 1989.


Stephen and Sarah have been together since 1992 and competed as professionals until 1997 when they stopped to help Sarah’s parents with their dance school in Nottingham and also to start their own dance school - Summers In Time Dance Ltd. In 2017 Stephen & Sarah expanded their business and opened Summers Knight Dance Studio in Hockley, Nottingham

(formally Roy & Mary Knight Dance Studio).


Stephen started dancing at the age of eight and competed through Juvenile, Junior, Youth and Amateur rankings, making two British Youth Finals at Blackpool and was ranked in the top 12 Amateur Ballroom dancers. He has also appeared on two series of BBC’s original Come Dancing.


Sarah has been dancing since she was three years old and competed in Freestyle / Disco and Rock n’ Roll. She was championship level by the age of ten, winning many championships around the UK including the All England Championships.She then turned professional at 17.


In 2011, Stephen and Sarah returned to compete in professional Ballroom, Latin and 10 Dance.

Kerry Hickling


Kerry has been teaching for 12 years. She is part of the ADFP and is qualified in Freestyle and Rock and Roll. Kerry also competed for 14 years. She adjudicates at competitions. Kerry has also choreographed routines for competitions and shows, including London and Paris.


DANCE TEACHERS

Loren Moon

Loren has been dancing for 11 years and teaching with Summers In Time for 8 years. Loren teaches in schools all over Nottingham. She qualified in her International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) teachers qualification in 2013. She has performed in annual shows at Her Majesty's Theatre, Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Florida and more.


Alice Selby

Alice has been a part of Summers in Time for 17 years and began teaching in the last 5 years. Alice qualified with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) in 2017. Alice has danced in our shows in Nottingham and across London including Her Majesty’s Theatre, Saddlers Wells and the Royal Albert Hall, as well as Disneyland Paris. Alice has also competed across the country and reached intermediate level in Freestyle. Alice also coaches at our gymnastics clubs in Southwell and is the Manager at our shop: Dance in Time Boutique.


Imogen Bucknall-Holland

Imogen has been part of Summers in Time for 12 years. Imogen competed at a championship level at ADFP competitions. She has also performed at Disneyland in Florida and Paris, the Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty's Theatre and many more. Imogen is mainly based in Mapperley at Studio 3 and at local primary schools. Imogen is training in Activities Leadership in the Leisure industry and Gym instructing. Imogen also assists in our cheerleading classes. Imogen passed her Associate Dance teachers qualification in May 2017.

Annabelle Bucknall-Holland


Annabelle has been part of Summers in Time for 11 years and has competed at a championship level at ADFP competitions. She has also performed in Disneyland Paris, the Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty's Theatre and many more. Annabelle is mainly based in Mapperley, Arnold and at local primary schools. Annabelle is currently studying Level 3 Dance at college. Annabelle also works part time in our Dance shop: Dance in Time. Annabelle passed her Associate Dance teachers qualification in May 2017.

Rebecca Etches

Rebecca has been with Summers In Time for 17 years and is a qualified dance teacher under IDTA, as well as a Level 2 General Gymnastics Coach. As well as dancing in our local Nottingham shows, Rebecca has danced in Disneyland Paris, some of London’s West End theatres such as the Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty’s Theatre, and Saddlers Wells, along with having competed for many years in Freestyle dance competitions. Rebecca has been a teacher with us for 5 years and currently teaches in Southwell and Top Valley.


Emily Lawrence


Emily is new to the teaching scene, but having danced previously for 14 years she has a lot of passion and is excited to begin her teaching career.

Jess Joseph


Jessica has been with Summers In Time for 16 years and is a qualified dance teacher under IDTA. As well as dancing in our local Nottingham shows, Jessica has danced in Disneyland Paris, some of London’s West End theatres such as the Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty’s Theatre, Saddlers Wells and has competed for many years in Freestyle dance competitions. Jessica also studied musical theatre at college and is trained in multiple dance styles, singing and acting. She is also trained in gymnastics by level 2 coach Alison Robinson. She has been a teacher with us for 5 years and currently teaches in Southwell, Top Valley, Nottingham City Centre and many after school clubs in and around Nottingham.

Olivia Brown


Olivia has been dancing at Summers In Time since 2010. She has performed at Disneyland Paris, Disney World Florida and theatres in London such as the Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty's Theatre and many more. She has completed 2 years at college studying level 3 extended diploma in dance.


Charlie Gray

Charlie started dancing at 3 years old and joined Summers In Time at the age of 7. Since then she has been involved in many shows and performances in venues such as Her Majesty’s Theatre, Sadlers Wells, and the Royal Albert Hall. She has also travelled to different countries to perform under the name of Summers In Time. These include Disneyland Paris and Disney World Florida. Dancing has always been a passion of Charlie's and she wishes to pass this love on to others. She works part time at Dance In Time boutique and also coaches gymnastics along side other staff members at Summers In Time and Southwell Leisure Centre and is looking forward to starting her journey as a dance teacher for Summers In Time.

Ian and Jannine

They both started dancing at the age of 6. Ian started in Tap, Ballet and Modern but then at the age of 13 got the Ballroom and Latin bug and decided he wanted to make his mark. Jannine went along to a trial day at a Ballroom and Latin school and never looked back. Completing all of her medalist exams and then moved on to the open competition circuit.


They have both competed throughout the UK achieving numerous titles along the way. Both have been very fortunate to travel the world with dancing. Ian through time on cruise ships, demonstrating and teaching whilst Jannine held the title of Vice Champion in the UK 10 Dance Championship and through this got to represent England in Professional European and World 10 dance championships.  Both are qualified Dance teachers under IDTA and are DBS checked.


Ian and Jannine teamed up in 2015 to teach the Leicester University Dancesport team. Helping the team to achieve great success in the University competition circuit.


In 2017 they also decided to start childrens and adults Ballroom and Latin classes not only at the Summers Knight Studio but also in Awsworth and Ilkeston, creating NuSteps Dance.  Both are qualified Dance teachers under IDTA and are DBS checked.


They aim to pass on their knowledge and experience
to others through their passion, love and drive for Ballroom and Latin dancing.


GYMNASTICS

Alison Robinson 

I am the founder coach for Summers In Time Gymnastics, which started 5 years ago. I qualified as a Level 2 Club Coach in Artistic Gymnastics over 30 years ago, so I have a vast amount of experience. I coach 7 classes for Summers in Time per week and enjoy seeing the gymnasts grow their confidence in performing gymnastic moves.

Sharon Callaghan 


I am a level 3 artistic gymnastics coach with over twenty years experience. I  myself competed in national competitions and I love to pass on my knowledge to others. I  get such a buzz to see pupils achieve new skills!

Emily Hancock


Emily has been working at Summers In Time Dance and Gymnastics for over 6 years. She has been teaching gymnastics since we branched out 4 years ago and has never looked back. You can find her in all the Arnold classes, working with both Alison and Sharon. A lot of children know her from outside of gymnastics as she works full time in a Primary School in Arnold.

Bethany Sayers


Bethany has been working at Summers In Time Dance and Gymnastics for 4 years when we expanded to become a dance and gymnastics school.

Many of our children know Bethany as "Coach Curly."

REGGAETON

Antigoni Gkrizi


Antigoni is from Greece but now lives in Nottingham. She has been a part of several dance schools and dance groups in the past in Greece, totalling 14 years of amateur and 3 years of professional dancing, including teaching. Her teaching groups have included a wide variety of ages, from 5 to 60 years old. She studied in 2014 modern dance, obtaining the ISTD certificate(vocational level). Her main professional styles are Reggeaton, Hip Hop and Zumba, the last two with associated diplomas (IDTA and zumba basic B1).  As far as Reggeaton is concerned, she was attending for 4 consecutive years intensive group lessons with a Greek famous Salsa and Reggeaton teacher and she took part with this team in lots of Salsa festivals and other popular dance events in Greece, giving a number of different Reggeaton shows. With a lot of awards in her background, she has participated in a number of Hip Hop competitions in Athens, with the most important one being the acquisition of the 3rd place at Hellenic Dancesport Open in 2016 with her own crew of  Zumba students. She has graduated from the department of Psychology in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and is currently on her master in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at the University of Derby. Also, she is a member of Beatbots hip hop crew which is based in Nottingham.
